10:30ish - Brian and I walked to the boat trip piers used for the Brienzersee lake. The next trip was for 11:16, but as we had arrived there late, there was already a queue. Once reaching the 3rd in line from the kiosk, the person selling the tickets promptly stopped and disappeared. This left us and those in front and behind a little confused. The next trip was for 12:25, so Brian suggested that we take the car and drive round the lake to Brienz. The original trip on the boats was to reach Brienz, for a tour of the Woodcarving school located there. |
| 11:49 - We left the hotel an took the south scenic route to Iseltwald and Brienz. |
| 12:04 - We stopped for some photos, as the view from the minor road is stunning. |
12:31 - Reached Brienz. We found the (after a longer walk then I remember) the Wood carving school. Unfortunately, the school only opens for a few hours on Saturday and was closed when we reached it. Maybe next time. Brienz has a mountain rail-link opposite the Boat terminus, which winds up into the mountains on the north bank. |
| 14:15 - Left Brienz. Brian suggested that we drive around the other lake (Thunersee) to Thun. |
15:26 - Parked in Thun. This appears to be the normal non-tourists city used by the people of Interlaken. |
| 16:40 - Left Thun for hotel |
| 17:35 - Arrived back at hotel |
