08:00ish - Had our last breakfast at hotel Goldey. Cereal, tea and toast for the journey ahead.
We have everything ready and we are only waiting upon our laundry.
09:30 - Laundry ready, so we checked out of the hotel for the long trip south.
10:30ish, we entered the Susten Pass, as very twisty road which climbs over the mountain range.
The pass is very picturesque and we stopped several times for photos.
Our fellow travellers also regularly stopped to take-in the breath taken views.
The views include glaciers and waterfalls and the ample parking areas allows the travellers to pull over and relax while looking at the surrounds.
Brian observed the high number of motorbikes which travelled the pass with us. They were enjoying the same pleasure that Brian was, in driving around the many bends and twists the road had
12:42 - Queued at Border to Italy
12:49 - Entered Italy!
13:04 - *Landmark Event* - Hit the first Italian toll. €1.60 for using the A8 for 15 minutes!
13.22 - Hit second Italian toll (already?). A further €1.20 for still using the A8.
14:03 - Had our first problem with Italian road signs and found ourselves entering Milano (Milan). Used the GPS to get back on track, but also decided on a petrol stop. 23.37 Litres purchased.
18:00ish - Reached Venezia. Motorway toll was €13 for travelling between Milano and Venezia.
Getting off the motorway was not straight forward as the off-ramps use splits rather than roundabouts, and the splits are only sign-posted on the split itself.
With local motorist tailgating and the speed of the off-ramps, we took a full three attempts to get back onto the original off-ramp for Venezia.

It also took some attempts to find the camp, as we arrived during the rush hour and keep pasting the camping, as the sign was on the left, but the camp was on the right.
The camp was named Alba D’oro and was based at ca’noghera.

The site is situated on a lagoon at the end of Marco Polo airport. The gives the camp site a different feel, as some of the customers are back-packers and the others are those arriving with their own boats.
The camp has a crane to lower the boats into the Lagoon, which allows the owners to trip around the airport runway and over to Venice.

The downside is a local community of Mosquitoes as well as a belly eye view of the planes leaving the airport!

We decided to stop for two nights, so we could take the bus to Venice tomorrow.
