Foreword
The Legion of Super-Heroes®
has always been my all-time favourite team comic book. The only groups which
come close are The Fantastic Four®
and The Challengers of the Unknown®.
Back in January '98, I was between jobs and had some spare time on my hands.
I thought I'd finally get of my backside and create my own web site.
anyway, I was surfing the web being nosy (as any web surfer should), when I found a site
hosting a set of customised LEGO® mini-figures. The figures were altered
using paint and clay (the models were by David J Oaks'
(Link to his Page)
. This got me thinking about creating LEGO® super-heroes based on those from the comics I collect.
I knew about the Persistence of Vision Ray-tracer (POV-RaY) from some years
back (I never could find the motivation to really use the software). While on
this surfing session, I crossed the path of anton Raves web page. Here was
located a library of LEGO® pieces to use with POV-RaY. after a quick
visit to the POV-RaY home site and a Download later, I was ready.
During the few months remaining until I started my next jobs, I created dozens of figures.
(including other more well known characters, like Batman® and
Superman® ). I would be interested in any LEGO
POV-RaY files for capes and special theme hats (not the Space or Present day
themes) these would be greatly appreciated.
Please also drop me a mail with any
Comments, Ideas or Character requests
you have for this site

Special Thanks
Special thanks to anton Raves
for creating his library file and supplying the POV-RaY file for the hair,
otherwise all the figures would have ended-up as slap-heads (bald)
To the many programmers of the POV-RaY program and supplying it for free.
David J Oaks for the inspiration. Nice figures 8^)
Finally to Kerry Earl, proprietor of
The american Comic Shop
, for keeping me supplied with my monthly dose of Comic Book escapism.
